As you drive or walk through the archway that welcomes you into the City Market, look sharply to your left --- and you'll see a new Bo Ling's restaurant that's fun and a little different from the five others in our city!

The newest Bo Ling's Fine Chinese Cuisine, at 20 East Fifth Street on the northwest corner of Fifth and Walnut, is now open. Owners Richard and Theresa Ng, celebrating 25 years as strong supporters of City Market merchants and local growers, have worked hard with architect Stewart Hutchison and designer Ivy Lan on a very aged City Market space to create an interesting open, casual restaurant. This new Bo Lings has lots of windows and arched stonework, seating for 100 inside, and outside seating for another 100. "It has a more interesting layout and bar, with high top tables, a juice and smoothie bar, lunch and dinner specials daily, sushi and daily dim sum (from 11 AM- 4 PM)," Owner Richard Ng says. "We will be creating new dishes to take advantage of all the daily fresh produce in our front yard. And of course, we will offer a full menu of premium Chinese teas. We are very excited to be part of such a diverse community." The City Market Bo Lings will be open from 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM Sunday through Thursday; and 11:00 AM - 10:30 PM Friday and Saturday.

The City Market restaurant is the sixth Bo Ling's restaurant in the city. Others are located at Zona Rosa Shopping Center at 1-29 and Barry Road in North Kansas City; the Plaza Board of Trade at 4800 Main; 91st and Metcalf in Overland Park; across from Oak Park Mall at 95th and Quivira in Orchard Corner Shopping Center in Lenexa; and 135th and Metcalf in Overland Park. Bo Ling's Fine Chinese Cuisine is known for its elaborate Chinese banquets and holiday parties, and Chinese catering as well. Bo Ling's recently won national recognition in USA TODAY, and was named one of the top 10 restaurants for gourmet Chinese food in the country. KC Magazine also just named Bo Ling's Best Chinese restaurant in the city, and Chinese Restaurant News named Bo Ling's one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the country three years in a row. Kansas City Star Restaurant Critic Lauren Chapin named Bo Ling's dim sum one of the 10 best foods in the city.
